Outdoor Activities
Mambo! Welcome to Afrikabisa Adventures & Travel. We pride ourselves in offering legendary outdoor activities. If you have one day in Tanzania, we can plan a relaxing or adventurous excursion for you. For travelers planning at least one week in TZ, hand over your flight schedule and allow us to cultivate a customized, travel itinerary. Our tours are rooted in preserving the eco-system and respecting the culture. Unlike most tour operators, we won’t recommend unnecessary excursions simply because they are popular. We curate experiences that are designed to shift paradigms and leave you with something to talk about at the water cooler, years to come.
Kariakoo Market Tour You haven’t experienced Africa until you’ve witnesses the frenetic activity of an outdoor market. Kariakoo Market is located in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. It bears the unfortunate history of having been repeatedly raided by slave catchers. It was later transformed into a functioning market by the Germans in the 19th century. We’ll take you around Kariakoo in a 3-wheel vehicle, known as a tuk-tuk. Shop amongst every day Tanzanians to purchase knock-offs of your favorite sneakers, clothing of all types, prepared foods, fresh fruit and vegetables, along with wigs, lace fronts and hair pieces. To experience Kariakoo is to experience Dar es Salaam. Horseback Riding Afrikabisa Adventures & Travel makes it possible for you to explore wildlife on horseback. You will be matched with a horse that’s just your size and travel the landscape of Tanzania’s most verdant forests and expansive plains. This experience is perfect for horse enthusiasts and novices. Previous riding experience is not required. Take in the fresh air and amazing views on the back of a four legged friend. Take advantage of a 2, 4 or full day excursion. Multi day horseback riding safaris are available as well. For more information about Tanzanian horseback riding, contact us today. Bike Safari Competing in pelotons is not required to explore TZ by bike. Discovering a new place via bicycle is a great way to have an authentic experience. There are times when you want to slow down and encounter life on a grass roots level. We work with a bicycle rental company that keeps its bikes in tip-top shape. The tires will be inflated at the proper rate, the brakes will stop appropriately and the horn will demand attention. A local guide will lead you along paths leading to coffee and banana farms. You’ll see kudu, zebra and monkeys along the roads headed toward Meru and Arusha. Hot Air Ballooning If you’ve done a safari or two before, consider something a little different – a hot air balloon safari. Exploring the plains of Africa by jeep is one thing but up high in a hot air balloon lends a completely different perspective. See herds of wildebeest charge through the savanna, on their way to the next watering hole. Watch kudus attempt to outrun feline predators from a unique vantage point. Afterwards, enjoy strawberries, sandwiches and sparkling wine. This is a wonderful option for couples who want to add a bit more romance to their safari adventure.
